BROWN COUNTY, Ind. — A Brown County Sheriff’s deputy was involved in a “very serious” motorcycle crash Wednesday afternoon while off-duty in Bartholomew County.
Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 2:47 p.m. to an accident with injury at the intersection of W. State Road 46 and Old Nashville Road. The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the accident involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
Dispatch had been notified that the driver of the motorcycle, identified as Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Timothy True, was unresponsive at the scene.
Deputy True had to be line lined from the scene of the crash to a hospital in Indianapolis. The deputy’s last reported condition was listed as critical but stable, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office said. True sustained serious head injuries as a result of the crash.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office said preliminary information indicates that the pickup truck pulled in front of the motorcycle onto W. State Road 46. The crash remains under investigation.
