NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (January 24, 2016)–An historic building on the downtown square lost a port of its brick facade Sunday evening.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m. Noblesville emergency crews were called to a report of a structure collapse at 20 North 9th Street.
When crews arrived, they quickly determined the building had not collapsed. Bricks from a 30 foot span near the roof area at the rear of the business fell onto the alley below.
No immediate cause was determined. It is suspected that age of the building was likely a factor.
The building is home to Miller’s Surveying. Officials say the building dates back to the 1800’s.
The owners arrived, went inside to inspect the structure and determined everything was fine.
The Noblesville Street Department placed barricades to block off the alley and keep people out of the area until repairs can be made.
