3 Warren Central students shot on northwest side, 17-year-old male died at scene

INDIANAPOLIS– IMPD is investigating a shooting involving multiple victims, one of whom was wounded fatally.

The gunfire erupted shortly after midnight Saturday near the intersection of W. 38th St. and Moller Rd., in the parking lot of American Freight Furniture and Mattress.

A 17-year-old male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Angel Mejia-Alfaro.

The other two students that were shot were identified as 19-year-old Darius Moore and 18-year-old Dijon Anderson.

The gunman allegedly opened fire on four people, hitting three males before fleeing the scene on foot, according to investigators.

Warren Township Schools issued a statement regarding the shooting, “As a school community we are saddened to learn of the tragic incident involving our high school students. We extend our heartfelt prayers to the families impacted by this terrible act. As classes at the high school resume on Monday, we will have the appropriate services on hand to counsel our kids.”

Both wounded men were transported to Eskenazi Hospital.

Police are searching for the gunman.
