UPDATE: Thomas Kesler pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct on March 22, 2017. He was sentenced to 38 days of jail with a 19 day jail credit.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.– A Bloomington man was arrested for allegedly hitting his 3-year-old daughter.

Bloomington police responded to a home in the 1600 block of North Willis Drive early Thursday morning on a report of a domestic dispute. The girl’s mother said her boyfriend, 25-year-old Thomas Kesler, struck the child during an argument.

Police said they found fresh red marks on the girl’s thighs and mid-section. Bruising and swelling was also found on her head.

The Indiana Department of Child Services was notified of the incident.

Kesler was taken to the Monroe County Jail on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent and battery. He also had an active warrant in Morgan County.
