INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The second day of the Indiana State Fair continues with a full day of activities and events for the whole family.
It is also Band Day on Saturday at the Fair, with high school bands across the state competing for bragging rights as the state’s top band. The preliminaries begin at 9 a.m., with the finals set for 8 p.m. Saturday night.
Also highlighting the second day is the 36th annual youth talent contest in the Farm Bureau Building at noon and the Neal McCoy concert on the Free Stage at 7:30 p.m.
Here are some of the other highlights for Saturday, August 6th:
|Bicentennial Train||Hop aboard the Indiana Bicentennial Train and learn about Indiana’s past, present, and future in a fun, interactive way!|
|9 a.m.||Music for All Indiana State Fair Band Day presented by Music Travel Consultants Preliminaries||Experience great music and pageantry as you watch high school marching bands from across Indiana compete for a spot in tonight’s Sweet Sixteen.|
|ALL DAY||Pokemon Go Meet-Up||The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center is home to more than 32 Pokestops and 4 Gyms! Bring your friends to level up and log some distance.|
|10-1 p.m.||Shoup’s Backyard BBQ Cook-Off||Come see the Shoup’s Backyard BBQ Cook-Off on West State Fair Boulevard!|
|12 p.m.||36th Annual Youth Talent Contest||Farm Bureau Building|
|Indiana Beer, Wine and Spirits Exhibition||The exhibition is located in the Grand Hall across from the Indiana Farmers Coliseum and will showcase Indiana beer and wine with tastings and sales by the glass. While this exhibit will be educational and interactive, only persons aged 21 and older may enter the venue.|
|4:30 p.m.||Take Flight Live Raptor Show||Have a look at the raptors or birds of prey at the Amphitheater during this awesome event!|
|6:30-8 p.m.||HAYWIRE- WGU Indiana Main Street Stage||Haywire is a five-piece band consisting of two guitars, keys, drums, and bass. Haywire is mainly a country band with some 80’s rock thrown in just to make sure you’re paying attention! Located at the WGU Indiana Main Street Stage.|
|7 p.m.||Leaping Llama and Llama Limbo||Watch llamas perform surprising acts of agility in the Cheri Daniels Arena in the Pop Weaver Youth Pavilion|
|7:30 p.m.||Neal McCoy presented by Hank-FM and Royal Pin Leisure Center||There is No Doubt About It that Neal McCoy will be a huge hit on the Free Stage. He has had seven Top 10 hits, one gold album, and three platinum albums. Fairgoers 21 and over will be able to enjoy alcohol before the performance.|
|8 p.m.||Music for All Indiana State Fair Band Day presented by Music Travel Consultants Finals||The top sixteen bands will compete for a championship title.|
