AVON, Ind. (May 7, 2015) – Indiana State Police (ISP) arrested a Hendricks County man Wednesday for child exploitation and possession of child pornography.

James Venable, 54, was arrested and preliminarily charged with the two felonies after an investigation led by ISP that began on March 6.

Police said the investigation led them to a residence in the 6800 block of Connie Dr. in Avon. Investigators obtained a search warrant and executed it on Wednesday evening.

A search of the residence revealed evidence connecting Venable to more than 10,000 files of child pornography, police said.

If convicted of both felonies, Venable could face eight and a half years in prison and a fine of $20,000.

Venable is currently being held at the Hendricks County Jail and a bond has not yet been set.

IMPD, the FBI, the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office and the Hendricks County Prosecutor’s Office assisted ISP in the investigation.
