Authorities find missing mentally handicapped woman on northwest side

UPDATE: The woman was located by authorities shortly before noon Sunday.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis police and the Pike Township Fire Department are searching for a missing 25-year-old mentally handicapped woman.

Police say the white woman was last seen in the area of 5200 Gainsborough Court around 9:45 a.m. Sunday. She was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, gray capri pants and orange flip flops. She has short brown hair, brown eyes, a thin scar on her neck and possibly a bruised face. A photo was not immediately released.

We’re told the woman has the mental capacity of a 9-year-old.
