(October 5, 2015) – Aspen Foods is recalling approximately 561,000 pounds of frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken products. The chicken appears to be ready-to-eat, but it may be contaminated with salmonella.
The breaded chicken items affected in the recall were produced between August 25 and September 17 with ‘best if used by’ dates of August 23, 2016 to December 15, 2016.

The product subject to recall bears the establishment number ‘P-1358’ inside the USDA mark of inspection. This product was shipped to retail stores and food service locations nationwide.
On July 15, Aspen Foods recalled approximately 1,978,680 pounds of frozen, raw, stuffed, and breaded chicken items that were produced between April 15 and July 10 with “best if used by” dates between July 14, 2016 and October 10, 2016.
Following the original recall, additional sampling revealed positive results that matched the outbreak strain of Salmonella Enteritidis to Aspen Foods products. With this and additional information, Aspen Foods chose to recall additional products in an effort to prevent additional illness.
