INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI has issued a campus-wide alert after an armed robbery was reported in the area.

The crim alert was issued after the school says an armed robbery was reported at the Starbucks in the 600 block of West 11th Street shortly after midnight. However, police who responded to the scene say the robbery actually took place at the Crown Liquors next door.

Police say the suspect was last seen heading southbound near Indiana Avenue and Blackford Street.

Witnesses say the suspect is a “scruffy,” white male possibly wearing a blue long sleeved shirt.

According to officers, the suspect was not located in the area. Police released their perimeter shortly before 2 a.m. and IUPUI returned to normal activities.

Anyone with information about this robbery is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
