AVON, Ind. — At approximately 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Deputies with the Hendricks County Sheriffs Department and Avon Police Department received a report of 4 juveniles in a gray passenger van and one who pointed a gun at the caller, who was familiar with the juvenile.
That specific juvenile also may have pointed the firearm at a nearby school bus while it was stopped and unloading students.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle in the area of U.S. Highway 36 and Dan Jones Road and engaged in a short vehicle pursuit before the suspect vehicle hit a curb and the suspects began to flee on foot.
One of the four suspects was captured on foot, however, the other three fled eastbound in the direction of Satori Flats apartment complex. Shortly after, Avon School Police officers located the three remaining suspects within the apartment complex and made apprehension.
Three of the juveniles, ages 14, 15, and 15, were all charged with Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor). One of the juveniles, age 16, was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony and Class A Misdemeanor), Possession of Stolen Property (Level 6 Felony), and Operating While Never Receiving a License (Class C Misdemeanor).
Police say there were no injuries reported in this incident.
