INDIANAPOLIS– Police say four men were shot Wednesday night on the near northeast side of Indianapolis. They range in age from 18 to 26 years old.

IMPD officers were called to East 34th Street and North Keystone Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on a report of a person shot. One person was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and went to Eskenazi Hospital in serious condition. Officers reported hearing an additional 15 shots fired after they arrived at the scene.

“We do believe we have multiple scenes with evidence because of the number of shots in the area,” said Sgt. Catherine Cummings with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

The second scene near Hillside Avenue is two blocks away from the first scene. There, two people were found on a porch shot in the legs. A fourth victim arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand.

“Now whether it was the same shooter we have no idea,” Cummings said. “Detectives will be very busy sorting this out.”

Over the weekend, a man was shot and killed at 34th and Keystone, the same area as the first shooting scene.
