UPDATE (9/11/2023): One of the men who were transported to a hospital in critical condition succumbed to their injuries and died on Sept. 10, IMPD said.
INDIANAPOLIS – Police are investigating a man died and another man and woman were injured in a shooting on Indy’s near northwest side early Sunday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the 1000 block of West 37th Street on the report of a person shot. When they arrived, they located three people who had been shot.
Two men were transported to area hospitals in critical condition. One man was pronounced dead shortly arriving. Meanwhile, a woman was transported in stable condition.
Police have reason to believe this is a targeted shooting. They say all three victims were standing outside talking before the shooting took place.
Police say several people witnessed the shooting, but some of them did not say to speak with authorities.
No additional was immediately made available by investigators.
