INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Nov. 5th 2015) — Indianapolis police continue to investigate a series of deadly shootings that left three people dead in less than three hours Wednesday night.

The busy night for police started on the northwest side at Candletree Circle, where man was found dead in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Just over an hour and a half later, police were called to Biscayne Road the east side where an 18-year-old man had been shot in the back and later died.

Fifteen minutes after that crime, the last murder of the night took place back on the northwest side when a man was found shot to death inside a truck on Fox Hill Court.

“It just doesn’t seem real how he’s gone like that,” said Justice Adell.

Adell is devastated by the loss of her close friend Nigel Willis.

Willis died after being shot while walking just a block from his home on Biscayne road.

“I mean it’s hard,” said Adell. “We raised him since he was 4 or 5. It’s crazy how he’s just really gone.”

Friends say Willis had been released from jail mere hours before being shot to death.

“He wasn’t even home for a whole 24 hours before he was killed,” said Adell.

“Our young people are handling their conflicts with violence. That is the reality we’re seeing out here,” said Reverend Charles Harrison.

Harrison isn’t surprised the city had three homicides in three hours and five murders in two days.

He says easy access to guns, drugs and a gang lifestyle that glorifies violence means the murder rate won’t slow down any time soon.

“It took us decades to get here and it will take decades to turn this around We should not let anyone fool us into thinking we can turn this around overnight. We’re not going to be able to do that,” said Harrison.

Two other people were shot Wednesday night, but those victims survived their injuries.

None of the shootings are thought to be connected.

Anyone with information on any of the cases should call Crime Stoppers.
