UPDATE: Police say 2nd victim has died in Monday’s shooting on south side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Two people have died following a shooting Monday on the south side of Indianapolis.

Officers were called to the 7300 block of Orinoco Avenue, near Shelby Street and East Southport Road, at 4:20 p.m. Monday.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said two victims suffering gunshot wounds were found upon arrival.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. The other was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. IMPD said Tuesday morning that the second victim had died.

Homicide detectives, the Indianapolis-Marion County forensics team and the Marion County Coroner are assisting with the investigation.
