Woman killed in Hendricks County crash

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind.– One person died Tuesday after being ejected in a crash in Hendricks County.

Crews were called to the scene in the 3800 block of US 40, west of Plainfield, around 9:15 a.m. Deputies found a 2004 Pontiac van inverted in the northbound lanes of US 40. The driver had been ejected from the van and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as Laura Thomas, 54, of Clayton.

Thomas had been traveling westbound on US 40 when the van went into the grass median before striking a culvert. At that time, the vehicle rolled and rotated before coming to rest upside down.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash and no other injuries were reported. Alcohol isn’t suspected as a contributing factor in this crash.
