INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A 91-year-old woman has died from her injuries and a man is in critical condition after a crash on Indianapolis’ northwest side, according to police.

Shortly before 4 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the call of a crash involving two vehicles at West 56th Street and North High School Road.

Police say a preliminary investigation shows a blue Chevrolet Traverse was headed eastbound on West 56th Street when it struck a beige Buick Rendezvous traveling westbound on West 56th Street as it attempted to turn left onto North High School Road.

The occupants of the Rendezvous were both taken to an area hospital, where the woman died from her injuries. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 91-year-old Mary Thomas.

The occupants of the Traverse, which contained five children, were not injured.
