INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – One person was killed in the backup of a multi-vehicle crash on southbound I-465 on Indy’s west side.
The fatal crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. Investigators say a semi was stopped in the backup from the first crash just south of Crawfordsville Road when a car hit the back of the semi while traveling at a high rate of speed.
The driver died at the scene. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 47-year-old Vance L. Fonville.
The semi driver was not injured.
