INDIANAPOLIS – One man is dead after a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on Indy’s west side.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of Kessler Boulevard North Drive and West 30th Street for a reported crash. When officers arrived, they located one person dead on scene.

Police closed down the area for several hours as they completed their investigation early Sunday morning.

Upon investigation, officers stated that man was walking in the middle of the street when a Dodge Durango struck the pedestrian. The driver remained on scene where police then took him to the hospital for a blood draw. He was arrested for a DUI.

According to a police report, officers arrested 26-year-old Davon Hoskins on several charges.

All final charging decisions will be up to the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.
