INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Immerse your ears and taste buds in a cultural affair at Gregory's Russian Restaurant. The family-owed spot is the in the Castleton neighborhood, off 82nd street in Indianapolis.

"We are the only Russian restaurant in Indiana," says owner Deanna Baranovsky.

Deanna and her husband Gregory moved to the United States in 1989, but they didn't leave Russia behind.

"Nothing compares to what my husband does on that piano, nothing," explains Deanna Baranovsky.

4 Things You Need to Know about Gregory's Russian Restaurant 

  • Yelpers love the chicken Kiev which is a classic Russian dish.

  • Gregory’s serves beer from Baltika, the second largest brewing company in Russia. Yelpers suggest pairing your meal with the Baltika Number 4. It’s not on the menu so you’ll have to ask for it by name.

" We have professional, beautiful piano music. We love Russian classical and folk and American music and jazz and Broadway music," says Baranovsky.

And, Russian food is more familiar to you than you might think!

"It's reminiscent of Midwestern food. It is comfort food. It is heavy on the meats and potatoes. These are ingredients you have seen before but used in a different way," explains Smith.

So, what should you order?

Smith highlights the most popular dishes on Yelp Indy: "Some of the top dishes in the Yelp reviews a the golubtsi, which are the cabbage rolls. It is a cabbage leave wrapped around meat and rice in the center and tomatoes. Also, the chicken Kiev and the Baltic beers."

Yelpers suggest pairing your meal with Baltika Number 4. It is not on the menu, so you'll have to ask for this beer by name.

Don't forget dessert!

The cakes, like the Napoleon and Tiramisu are all made from scratch.
