    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A recovery effort is underway for a missing canoeist at Riverside Park. Before 6 p.m., Saturday evening Indianapolis Fire Department received a call about a man who fell in the White River.   • Anderson Police investigate body found in White River

    ANDERSON, IND –Anderson Police are investigating the discovery of a body in White River on the city’s west side. Around 6 p.m. Saturday someone discovered the body of an adult male near the banks of White River . Police described the scene as near the Derby Downs Park just east of North Madison Avenue. It is not known if foul-play may have been involved.  The Madison County Coroner will determine the cause of death.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Firefighters from five area fire departments battled a two-alarm fire at the Island Club Apartments Sunday night.     INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Miss Benton County Halle Shoults was crowned the 61st Indiana State Fair Queen at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Sunday. Shoults was selected over 84 other contestants after three days of judging.  The Indiana State Fair Queen will travel nearly 8,000 miles during June and July to some 45 counties to promote the Indiana State Fair, August 2-18, 2019.     INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A man was arrested Monday after allegedly killing his girlfriend by stabbing her before trying to kill himself.   • 14 people overdose on ‘spice’ in downtown Indianapolis

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Metro police and medics had their hands full Saturday afternoon as they responded to multiple calls of a “person down” or possible overdose within a three block radius in the downtown area. Medics with IEMS say they responded to seven emergency medical runs in a three to four hour time frame.     INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — IMPD is asking for the community to help solve an east side homicide from earlier this week. On Thursday, Indianapolis police responded to a report of a person shot at 1218 Grant Avenue.
