Man taken to hospital after west side shooting
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A man was taken to an area hospital following a shooting on the west side of Indianapolis.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched just before 7 a.m. to the 3000 block of Island Club Lane in response to reports that a person had been shot. Police said they received multiple 911 calls about the shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a man unconscious and unresponsive suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital and rushed into surgery. Police said the man was in serious to critical condition.
Detectives have been called to the scene. There was no information about the shooter.
