INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill just announced he’s running for re-election, with his campaign posting a video online Thursday morning to make it official.
“I’m Curtis Hill, I’m your attorney general, and I’m ready to keep fighting for Indiana, our values and our way of life,” said Hill, announcing his run for a second term.
You may remember Hill went in front of a disciplinary commission last month, facing groping allegations by a state lawmaker and a group of statehouse staffers at a downtown bar last year.
He is still awaiting a ruling on that disciplinary complaint.
Leaders of his own party have called for his resignation, and GOP delegates will choose their nominee at next year’s Republican convention.
“I’ll never back down from partisan attacks, the media, and even Republicans embarrassed to defend our values,” said Hill in a statement released Thursday morning.
This week, we also spoke with Zionsville attorney John Westercamp who’s running against Hill for the Republican nomination.

"Curtis Hill is a disgrace," said John Zody, state party chairman for the Indiana Democrats. "His conduct is below the standard of an elected official, let alone the state’s top law enforcement officer. In making this announcement, Hill lights the fuse on what could be a powder keg of a Republican convention by openly taunting Governor Holcomb and other Indiana Republicans."
Zody had an announcement of his own this week - he's running for State Senate in his home district of Bloomington.
