Victim in deadly Hendricks County crash identified

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – One person is dead after a crash in Hendricks County.

Emergency crews responded to the scene of the crash around 4:45 a.m. It occurred southwest of Danville near 200 South County Road 450 West.

Police said one person was killed in the crash. The victim was identified as John McCarthy, 60, of Danville.

McCarthy was reportedly traveling southbound on 450 West when his SUV struck a railroad bridge and came to a rest upside down.

Police say they also received a call for a welfare check on McCarthy around the time of the accident. The coroner’s office will determine the cause and manner of death.
