IFD hosts fire safety day

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Five years ago, six members of the Guerra family died in a tragic fire. Since then, the Indianapolis Fire Department has hosted a yearly fire safety event at its Survive Alive facility.

The facility shows what working fire safety protocols look like in a home. Firefighters also walked people through evacuation plans and gave out free smoke alarm installations, which save lives.
