Woman, man injured in separate northeast side shootings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police are investigating two shootings Tuesday afternoon on the city’s northeast side.

Officers were called to the 3400 block of Brouse Avenue, near North Keystone Avenue and East 35th Street, just before 12:30 p.m. Police initially said one person was critically injured, but had this incident mixed up with the other. A woman is in stable condition. Police say this shooting started as a domestic violence situation.

The victim and the suspect are both 19 years old.

A second shooting occurred just after 12:40 p.m. in the 3900 block of North Shadeland Avenue. The victim, a 31-year-old man, was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police are looking for a dark blue Chevrolet Malibu with tinted windows in connection with the second shooting.

Police do not believe the incidents are related.
