INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.-- Indianapolis Motor Speedway President Doug Boles discussed information racegoers need to know heading into race weekend.

Boles held a similar briefing earlier this week with useful information for fans, but made a few additions Thursday.

Due to additional security measures enacted for the visit of Vice President Mike Pence on race day, fans planning to enter in the Turn 2 will be impacted.

Gate 4 at the track will be closed to all pedestrian traffic beginning Friday and going through race day. Attendees will need to use Gate 3 along 16th Street and walk through the tunnels to get to various parts of the track.

Gate 12 will also be available as an alternate gate for those who typically use Gate 4. No vehicles should pass Gate 4 unless they are directly necessary for the race. Golf carts will be allowed.

Boles noted that Pence will just be there as a fan and won't have an official, planned role in the 500 festivities.
