Police at scene on Wednesday, May 17, 2017

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – IMPD confirmed they are investigating a report of a body found on the near northwest side Wednesday night.

Just after 7 p.m. officers were sent to the 2500 block of North Harding Street after Citizens Gas workers found an unresponsive female.

Police say the workers were called out on a suspected gas leak. EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, but police believe the death to be suspicious. The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 55-year-old Kim Miller. The cause and manner of death are still pending until an autopsy is completed, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Alfie Ballew.

Detectives urge anyone with information to call the IMPD Homicide Office at 317.327.3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317.262.8477 (TIPS). Citizens can also download the mobile P3tips app for Apple or Android phones to submit a mobile tip, or go to www.CrimeTips.org to submit a web tip.

You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1000 if the information leads to a felony arrest.  Only tips submitted directly and anonymously to Crime Stoppers are eligible for these cash rewards.
