INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating three separate shootings that happened in the span of about eight hours.

The first shooting happened in the 1400 block of Deloss Street just around 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. One person was shot in the leg and another in the stomach.

The second shooting was reported around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of N. Alton Street. A woman was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. A man was also shot in that case, police said.

“A female and a male were injured in the shooting, and both were transported to Methodist Hospital in stable condition,” said Major Richard Riddle with IMPD. “The female was shot multiple times in her torso and the male was shot multiple times in his legs. However, he was able to run from the scene and flag down an officer that was in the area on an unrelated call.”

Riddle said it appeared that one or two suspects came from behind the house, opened fire and then fled the scene through an alley.

Officers were later dispatched to the 8800 block of Bel Air Drive just after midnight Thursday in response to another double shooting.

IMPD said two people were shot near the intersection of Monterey Road and Biscayne Road and ran to Bel Air Drive to call for help.

Police said both were taken to an area hospital in good condition.

Anyone with information about these cases should call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
