NORTH SALEM, Ind. – Emergency officials in Hendricks County responded to a fire early Thursday morning.

Hendricks County dispatchers confirmed the fire at 2103 North County Road 525 in North Salem. It was reported just before 5 a.m.

Homeowners believe the fire started in a nearby shed, but investigators were still trying to find out what caused it.

Eight local fire departments were called to assist. Crews had a steady water supply, but several tankers were on standby if needed.

Officials said it appeared the immediate threat from the fire was over. A couple lived in the home along with several animals. No injuries were reported.
