Southport police arrest suspect in connection with robbery at gas station

UPDATE (June 29, 2017) — Baker was sentenced to 6 years, with 4 years in the Department of Correction and 2 years in Community Corrections. He’ll also undergo a substance abuse evaluations and is ordered to stay away from all Marion County Speedway gas stations.

UPDATE (March 3, 2017)– Police say the suspect has been identified and arrested. Mike Baker of Indianapolis was taken into custody Friday evening and charged with robbery.

SOUTHPORT, Ind. – Police in Southport are looking for a man after a Tuesday night robbery at a Speedway gas station.

According to Southport police, the man robbed the Speedway at 7211 Madison Ave. around 11:10 p.m. He wore blue jeans, a black hoodie with white lettering and a black stocking cap. Police said he had a gray mustache and a “weathered” complexion.

He left the store and then got into a dark, older model car.
