DNR in southern Indiana responds to report of armadillo

PERRY COUNTY, Ind. – Conservation officers in southern Indiana encountered an unusual animal in Gatchel, Indiana yesterday.

ICO Howerton picked up an armadillo after receiving a call from a concerned citizen.

Armadillos are not native to Indiana, but reports of sightings and road kills have become more frequent in southern and western Indiana over the last few years.
