Crews battle fire and bitter cold on near east side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis Fire Department crews are battling a house fire on the near east side of Indianapolis.

The call came in around 7:30 a.m. in the 1500 block of Beville Avenue.

According to officials at the scene, two people live in the home. A man was letting his dogs out when he heard a pop and saw the fire.

The man and another woman who live in the home got out safely.

Damage is estimated at $30,000.
