INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– The Indianapolis Department of Public Works’ (DPW) leaf collection will end this Friday, December 2. Leaf collection season began November 7 to assist Indianapolis residents with leaf removal during the fall season. After Friday, December 2, all leaves must be placed inside the 96-gallon cart in order to be picked up.

Residents who still have bags of leaves after December 2 are welcome to place them as one of their two (2) heavy trash items for the month. Residents can find out when their heavy trash pickup day is by entering address information in the Government Profile website at

Residents can also take advantage of the Citizens Transfer Station, located at 2324 S Belmont Avenue, and drop off any excess leaves or trash on Saturdays from 8:00 – 4:00 PM. There is a small fee to utilize that service.
