Firefighters battle large fire that destroyed vacant home, damaged 2 others on near north side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Firefighters battled a second alarm fire on the near north side that destroyed a vacant home and damaged two others Sunday morning.

The Indianapolis Fire Departments says the fire broke out shortly after 7:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of College Avenue near 21st Street.

Fire officials say three dogs were rescued and there were no reported injuries from the blaze that caused an estimated $250,000 in damage.
