HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind.—Emergency crews responded to the scene of a crash in Hendricks County this morning.

The crash happened just before 9 a.m. on State Road 39, just south of US 40.

Investigators say a dodge pickup truck was traveling northbound on State Road 39 when he stated he became distracted by his 6-year-old daughter in the passenger seat. The driver reported that the vehicle traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.

The girl, who had been restrained in a booster seat, was transported to Riley Hospital with a head injury.  She is currently in critical but stable condition. Her father, a 26-year-old man from Monrovia, was reportedly not injured.
