INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- An IMPD police officer was involved in a single  car crash on the city's east side along East Washington Street near Rural Street.

The officer had reportedly made a turn onto Washington Street just before 4:00 a.m. when he briefly lost control due to slick road conditions and crashed into steps of a building.

The officer was briefly trapped inside his cruiser but was quickly freed upon arrival of IFD. He was then transported to Methodist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
