A speeding driver hits car; flees scene leaving two in critical condition
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police are looking for a man who hit another car and fled, leaving two other people in critical condition.
Metro police say the man was driving a Corvette at a high rate of speed, heading eastbound on New York Street around 10 p.m. Saturday night.
Then, a second vehicle carrying an infant made a right hand turn off Oakland Avenue. The speeding Corvette then struck that vehicle.
Police say the driver of the vehicle then exited the car and fled the scene. The man left both the passenger riding in the seat next to him and the female driver of the other vehicle in critical condition. The two victims were transported to the hospital.
But as the ambulance carrying the female driver rushed her to the hospital, it struck and t-boned a taxi at East and New York. Nobody was hurt in this second accident.
Now police say they are actively seeking the Corvette’s driver. They believe he is a white male, probably between 5’4’’ and 5’11’’, is wearing a light grey hoodie, and has facial injuries from the accident.
