Flags to be flown at half-staff for Hoosier Army Private Dakota Stump killed in Fort Hood car accident

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Governor Mike Pence is directing all flags at state facilities statewide be flown at half-staff for Army Private and Avon native Dakota Stump.

Stump went missing from Fort Hood in October, and his body was discovered a month later next to a flipped-over vehicle. The vehicle was registered to Stump and found approximately 100 yards from the roadway near Building 43028 on the base.

Today, the governor directed all flags to be flown half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of Pvt. Stump’s funeral, Saturday, November 12.

Governor Pence is also asking businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff to honor the service and sacrifice of Stump.
