Crews respond to house fire on city’s near northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indianapolis firefighters responded early Wednesday morning to a fire on the near northwest side.

Crews were dispatched around 5 a.m. to a house fire near 29th and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. streets.

The home is located at Udell Street and Ethel Avenue. IFD said the residence was vacant.

The home was fully engulfed when crews arrived, and IFD said it was a total loss with damage estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
