INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– A patient at Indiana University Health exercised his right to vote from his hospital room.

On Monday afternoon, 25-year-old John Stevens of Bloomington voted during his stay at the hospital. He completed an application for a traveling board from his home county to hand deliver a ballot to him downtown.

In several states, including Indiana, patients who are hospitalized and unable to travel to their designated polling place can receive an emergency absentee ballot.

IU Health said their staff is happy to accommodate patients who wish to vote during their hospital stay.
