Police arrest suspect in connection with shooting on northeast side

On Aug. 22, 2018, Darnell Harmon pleaded guilty to battery with a deadly weapon and felon carrying handgun. He was sentenced to 8 years in prison with 654 days of jail credit.


INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting on the northeast side.

Officers  were called to the Marathon gas station in the area of East 42nd Street and North Franklin Road Sunday.

Officers found a man, identified as Keenan Taylor, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. EMS personnel responded and rushed Taylor to Eskenazi Hospital.

Detectives spoke with witnesses and watched surveillance footage of the shooting, which led them to identify the suspect as Darnell Harmon, 25. Police were able to find him based on previous disturbance reports.

Harmon was arrested on a preliminary charge of attempted murder.

Police did not provide an update on Taylor’s condition.
