INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – An Indianapolis boy and his family will get to go to Hawaii thanks to Make-A-Wish.

Mason is one of three children who will travel to our 50th state thanks to the organization and the support of TCC, which donated $250,000 to grant 25 wishes for children across the U.S. The Carmel-based company is one of the top 30 corporate Make-A-Wish donors in the country.

Erin Butler, whose son, Luke, was a wish kid, shared her story with more than 1,000 TCC employees last week when the donation was announced. Luke was diagnosed with a degenerative lung disease in 2008 and found comfort through gardening and horticulture.

Luke’s wish was to see how pineapples grow in Hawaii; Make-A-Wish arranged a trip for his family in 2010. He died the following year.

In addition to Mason, wish kids Mohamed from New Jersey and Kacee from Oregon will get to experience the Hawaiian Islands firsthand to carry on Luke’s legacy.
