Long lines at Indy cafe for ‘Gilmore Girls’ free coffee promotion

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Fans of Gilmore Girls waited in long lines Wednesday morning to score a free cup of coffee.

On Wednesday, both locations of Bee Coffee Roasters in Indianapolis transformed into Luke’s Diner, the fictional café from the popular show, to give away free coffee to celebrate.

The promotion lasts from 7 a.m. through noon. Customers get a free cup of coffee with a branded Luke’s sleeve.

The event is part of a nationwide effort to promote the new Gilmore Girls miniseries premiering on Netflix next month. The show ran on the WB/CW Network for seven seasons and ended its run in 2007. It’ll return nearly a decade later for the Netflix revival, which will bring viewers back to Stars Hollow, Conn., to continue the story of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore and their friends.

Bee Coffee Roasters is located at 201 S. Capitol Avenue and 5510 Lafayette Road.
