Semi-trailer fire that caused back-up on I-65

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. – A semi-trailer fire on I-65 in Boone County caused a back-up that stretched across Clinton County and into Tippecanoe County Sunday evening.

Police say the back-up caused as many as six accidents.

One of the accidents involved a Mega Bus that ran into the back of a Walmart semi-trailer near the 161 mile marker, which is just inside the Tippecanoe County line.

Several ambulances were sent to the scene. Authorities say there was only one injury, which is not believed to be serious. Other passengers were evaluated by medical personnel on-scene.

The bus was later off-loaded and at last word passengers were waiting on another bus to get them back on the road.
