Police identify woman found dead in west side retention pond

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Homicide detectives are investigating after woman’s body was found in a retention pond near a west side apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene in the 7100 block of Waterfront Drive near Mariner’s Village Apartments around 11:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found a the victim in the water, with visible signs of trauma. She was declared dead at the scene.

Police identified the woman as Starr Eldridge, 26, Indianapolis, and said her death is a homicide. The Marion County Coroner’s Office was working to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
