It's the showdown many voters have been waiting to see- Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on the debate stage, one-on-one.
The long-awaited debate takes place Monday at Hofstra University in New York, but the target audience will likely be voters across the country, especially in a handful of key swing states that could still tip the election one way or the other.
Recent polls have shown the race getting closer- though Clinton still has an advantage in most polls and in most estimates of the state-by-state electoral college.
In the video above, CBS4's Matt Smith previews this week's debate, and next week's Vice-Presidential debate featuring Gov. Mike Pence (R-IN) and Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA).
Clinton and Trump will debate a total of three times before the election:
- Mon, Sept. 26th at Hofstra University (Moderator: Lester Holt)
- Sun, Oct 9th town hall in St. Louis (Moderators: Anderson Cooper and Martha Raddatz)
- Wed, Oct. 19th in Las Vegas (Moderator: Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace)
