PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind.– Conservation officers say the body of a man who went missing on Big Walnut Creek has been found.

Robert Sims, 27, of Fillmore, was found dead Thursday morning.

According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, his body was discovered less than a mile from where he was last seen around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Crews searched for Sims until 2 a.m. Saturday when they had to stop due to heavy fog. Their search resumed Sunday at 8 a.m. On Sunday afternoon, conservation officers located Sims’ kayak.

At this time, DNR says no foul play is suspected. An autopsy will be conducted Friday morning.
