INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Some of Indiana’s fallen officers will be honored Tuesday at the Statehouse during the Annual Fraternal Order of Police Memorial Service.

It’s in the Capital North Rotunda at 7 p.m.

Howard County Sheriff’s Deputy Carl Koontz will be honored and his family will be at the service. He was shot and killed in the line of duty in March while serving a search warrant. The young husband and father was just shy of 27 years old.

The other honorees are:

Fred Cromwell, Linton Police Department, February 7, 1915

David S. Richards, Indianapolis Police Department, January 3, 1922

Norman J. Bretz, Indiana State Excise Police, February 23, 1960

IMPD plans to honor fallen officer Rod Bradway later Tuesday night. The department posted this to social media:

Bradway was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2013 when he heard a woman screaming for help and kicked in her door. He was ambushed by the man behind it.

The husband and father of two children was 41 years old.
