The Father’s House hosts annual IMPD roll call event

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Friday, The Father’s House Christian Church is hosting its 8th annual IMPD roll call event to thank officers for their service.

Volunteers plan to serve meals to roughly 300 police officers ahead of roll call for several different districts.

The congregation and local businesses have teamed up to provide hot, catered meals.

Volunteers attend all day, serving food or saying a simple thank you.

Officers will also be given a gift bag before they head back out to patrol Indy’s streets.

Inside and outside the church are messages of thanks for the job the officers do. Notes and banners line the walls inside, many written by kids. Outside, sidewalk chalk messages decorates the parking lot.

The event runs from 5:30 a.m. Friday until around midnight.

Organizers encourage the community to come out to thank the officers as well.
