INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Indiana State Police K-9 graduation ended with a very special surprise – a proposal!

This morning at the Indiana State Police Museum, the 2016 Indiana State Police K-9 class graduated. The 2016 class consisted of six ISP troopers, one Indiana School for the Deaf officer, and their K-9s.

During the ceremony, Sgt. Richard Myers announced that K-9 handler Trooper Tyson Waldron was receiving an award.

Waldron’s girlfriend Emily Skidmore came up to the front of the room to help him accept the award, or so she thought.

That’s when Waldron got down on one knee and proposed! Of course, Skidmore said, “Yes!”

Congratulations to the happy couple!
